Welcome to Stitching in Color™!
My cross stitch designs are unapologetically Black. Stitching in Color™ celebrates Black American memory, experience, and culture. This shop is a disruption of the norm. It occupies space for you, me, my ancestors, and the next generation of stitchers. I design to continue the works of my ancestor’s hands, preserve their legacies, and the contributions of my people.
The first patterns, “James Weldon Johnson & J. Rosamond Johnson: Portraits of Black Excellence,” is the first in its series. The Johnson brothers shaped Black culture with the anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice & Sing.” The series, "Portraits of Black Excellence," celebrates so many untold legacies and a few that are well known. I’m so excited to share my love of Black history with y’all through cross stitch for all to enjoy. I'm blessed to carry out the God-given vision to open a shop where #representationmatters.
